Be sure to use the included USB-C cable and Power Supply. If using an alternative power supply be sure it supports Power Delivery (PD) and connect it using the included USB-C cable. Do not power Duo from a computer, TV or other device.
8BitDo 2.4g controllers can pair directly to Duo without the use of the included controller dongle. Update your controller firmware for use with Duo and Dock by visiting support.8bitdo.com/analogue/Dock.
Do not insert DVD, Blu-ray or damaged discs into Duo. These are not supported and may cause undesired behavior.
Method 1: Unplug USB power from Duo then plug power back in. Power on Duo while repeatedly pressing the CD eject button for 3-4 seconds to eject the disc.
Method 2: On the root of your SD card create a blank .txt
file and name it duo_eject.txt
(case sensitive). Unplug USB power from Duo along with any connected USB devices. Insert the SD card with the new file. Plug in USB power to Duo and power on Duo to eject the disc automatically. If the disc does not eject on the first try please try again by repeating the above steps. Be sure to use the included USB-C cable and Power Supply. Delete the newly created file from the SD card before continuing to use Duo.
If an original HuCard is used ensure the region detection is set to Auto-Detect or the correct region for the HuCard if set manually.
If a SuperGrafx game is used make sure the SuperGrafx option is set to Auto-Detect or the SuperGrafx option is turned on if set manually.
If a CD game is being used make sure the System Card option is set to Auto-Detect or the appropriate type of System Card is selected if set manually.
Check that your controller switch is set correctly for the game if using an original 6 button controller. If the controller is not responding correctly, try the Force 2 Button option or Passthrough Mode.
Clean the pins of your HuCard with at least 91% Isopropyl Alcohol.
Check that your CD is not seriously damaged and that the surface is clean.
If you have tried all the relevant options and the game still does not work, please contact Analogue Support with the game title and details about the issue.
Use an original NEC System Card. CD+G support requires System Card v2.0 or later.
Enable the HuCard Audio setting in the OS menu Settings>Duo>System>Audio. This setting supports stereo CD audio.
An SD card must be inserted into Duo to support game saves (FAT32 or exFAT up to 1TB). Authentic SanDisk is recommended.
Duo automatically supports separate game saves for each game. Backup RAM is saved to the SD card. You may archive or copy the save files from your SD card.
Option 1: Connect wireless and/or USB controllers plus an original PCE controller using the miniDIN connector on the left side of Duo.
Option 2: Use an original PCE Multitap (or a TurboTap with a port adapter) and five original controllers. Duo does not support USB hubs or mixing a Multitap device with wireless or USB controllers.
Use the Force 6 Button option in the OS menu Settings>Duo>System>Input. Remember to set this to auto when playing games that are not 6 button compatible or they may not run properly.
